The myth of self-service
Prior to coming to ThoughtSpot, I was at Salesforce where my team and I built Einstein Analytics. I fundamentally believe the role of Analytics and BI is not just to give you a chart that shows what happened—it also needs to show you why it happened, what could happen, and tell you what you can do about it. That's what being data-driven means.
There are some in the market that say the way to be data-driven is to do "self-service." It’s a great idea, but if you read the fine print, there's a catch: when they say self-service, they mean you can create your own dashboards. But no one gets up in the morning thinking, "Maybe I will create more dashboards today!" Business users don't need more dashboards; they need answers, insights, and guidance. Instead, expensive visualization tools give you a BI backlog where you wait weeks if not months for the answers you need—and that doesn’t work.
Introducing ThoughtSpot Agentic Analytics Platform
This challenge requires a new approach. At ThoughtSpot, we’re reimagining analytics and BI from the ground up with the world's leading Agentic Analytics Platform. Our holistic approach is designed to help innovative leaders like you transform insights to action, powered by agents.

To experience the full value of agentic analytics, you first need to know what it means—what the technology is, how you use it, and the impacts it will have on your organization. Below, we’re defining agentic analytics—providing an overview of our available innovation and sharing our vision for an autonomous future.
What is agentic analytics?
1. Everyone gets a dedicated analyst

With legacy BI, you still have to rely on data teams to interpret insights, pull reports, and clean data. This reliance creates bottlenecks, delaying decision-making and limiting the potential for data-driven actions. With our Agentic Analytics Platform, we are changing that reality. ThoughtSpot’s AI Analyst, Spotter, serves as your personal data analyst, automatically identifying trends, surfacing insights, and taking action within your business workflows.
Spotter is designed for every department, from customer success to finance to operations. Instead of waiting for dashboards and reports, now teams can receive proactive, personalized insights delivered to their most-used work tools, like Slack or Salesforce. For instance, Spotter can notify a customer success manager about accounts at risk of churn, recommend actions, and even automate routine tasks proven to promote customer retention.
New at ThoughtSpot:
The launch of Spotter last year marked a significant shift from dashboards to intelligent automation. Instead of users having to dig for insights, AI continuously scans data, identifies what matters most, and delivers it in an easy-to-understand format. Today, we’re happy to announce the next generation of Spotter, which features enhanced capabilities, including:
Data insights for analytical questions and data literacy
Change analysis to help you uncover the answer to ‘why” questions
Deep analysis through conversation with dynamic data-augmented RAG
Conversation-driven human-in-the-loop feedback to easily train models

2. Insights are connected and ubiquitous

The core of operationalizing connected insights lies in delivering them to all users—whether they are drivers, doctors, warehouse personnel, or executives—wherever they are working. This capability is essential for ensuring that insights are not just available but actionable, enabling teams to respond quickly to emerging trends and issues.
ThoughtSpot’s AI Analyst Spotter integrates across multiple data sources, eliminating silos previously created by legacy BI to provide a more holistic view of your data. For example, your AI analyst can predict churn by pulling signals from Salesforce, Jira, and support tickets, and then automatically send your customer success rep a threshold-based alert in your business application. This approach transforms fragmented data into a single, intelligent system, where insights flow seamlessly across an organization.
New at ThoughtSpot:
To deliver on this vision, we’re fundamentally changing the way you visualize data and insights in ThoughtSpot. That starts with delivering AI-first intelligence and providing the ability to receive insights through auto-generated, natural-language summaries. Now you’ll simply receive insights when and where you want to—be that Salesforce, Slack, Teams, your mobile app, or any other business application—so you can focus on taking action, not interpreting dashboards and reports. We’re also introducing ThoughtSpot’s Native Visualization Engine, Muze, which allows you to completely customize the way you visualize your data.

3. Apps become intelligent experiences

Modern applications require embedded intelligence to enhance user experience and drive productivity. Users shouldn’t have to log into a separate system to find insights. To deliver true in-workflow insights, BI must become bodiless, allowing insights to flow naturally within their daily tasks.
This is why we prioritized providing the ability to embed Spotter with our official launch last year. With ThoughtSpot Embedded, you can leverage all of the features of our advanced AI Analyst within your internal or customer-facing applications, transforming every app into a smart app.
New at ThoughtSpot:
Today, we are expanding Spotter’s flexibility, providing you with the ability to embed individual features within your application. Whether you want all of Spotter, a single component, or a simple API integration. You can now also power your enterprise agent—like Agentforce, Copilot or Vortex AI—with Spotter intelligence through our BI agent as a service. To accelerate your development, we’ve added AI-assisted documentation, seamless JWT authentication, and a Developer Playground packed with ready-to-use code samples. Now you can create smarter experience faster with ThoughtSpot.

4. Enterprise data is boundaryless
Traditional BI has restricted your data. What goes in (perfectly modeled and visualized for conception) can come out as a chart or visualization. We’re already discussed how ThoughtSpot is solving for AI-ready data, providing deep-analysis natural-language insights, and breaking down data silos, but what about all of the relevant data and intelligence not generated from your business?
We’re talking about harnessing the data and intelligence of the world and providing the ability to layer that context on your data. For instance, let’s consider the customer service agent that monitors support ticket volumes, response times, and customer satisfaction scores and alerts you to potential customer churn. Now, imagine that it can also provide real-time coaching to customer service representatives, offering advice on how to efficiently resolve frequently encountered customer service issues.
By combining your business data with the power of our generative AI agent and the wealth of publicly available information, we aim to create an intelligent business assistant designed to enhance your productivity and decision-making. This boundaryless approach to enterprise data enriches insights and empowers users to act on those insights in real-time, transforming the way organizations leverage their data assets.
5. AI is the only UI you will need
Goodbye, traditional interfaces. We’re envisioning a future where a casual conversation with an AI agent is the entire user experience. Want to know the trends? Ask AI. Want an executive summary of those trends? Ask AI. Need a supporting graphic? Ask AI. Oh no, but it’s not in your brand’s colors. What should you do? You guessed it.
Instead of navigating multiple applications—Salesforce, ServiceNow, Slack, and more—AI will act as the central interface. No more complicated navigations, drop-down menus, filters, drill-downs, and search bars. Simply type (or speak) your question, and the AI will surface the answer. Of course, this future also supports proactive intelligence with autonomous monitoring that can suggest and even take actions on your behalf.
This shift means that AI won’t just be an assistant—it will be the interface, eliminating complexity and making analytics truly effortless, embedded, and intuitive for everyone.
6. Agents power the autonomous enterprise
The vision for an autonomous enterprise is to have data drive business decisions autonomously, much like an autonomous vehicle navigates without human intervention. A truly autonomous enterprise doesn’t just use AI—it operates on AI. This transformation will empower organizations to leverage AI agents that interact with one another, solving complex business challenges and enhancing overall efficiency. This shift will fundamentally change business as we know it.
Once everyone has an AI analyst and we’ve developed AI-first interfaces, we’re already well on our way to becoming truly autonomous businesses. One of the biggest barriers, however, will always be trust—how do you ensure the AI-generated analysis is correct and that the automated action is the right one to make?
This future will be driven by proactive, self-optimizing systems that not only scan for anomalies and issues but also resolve them automatically. As these AI agents learn your business, your data, your processes, and your teams, the degree to which humans need to be involved will change. However, keeping humans in the loop will always be fundamental to trust and accuracy with AI. The goal of the autonomous enterprise is not to replace humans, but rather to automate mundane tasks so that your most valuable resource, your people, can work on the next-level work that humans are uniquely qualified to create.
